Reflective statement

I can definitely say that throughout the creation of my zine, “Caterpillar” , my digital skills and techniques have improved a lot and become much stronger. I really enjoyed experimenting with different filters and effects in several applications. At the beginning, I was quite unclear about whether I should do styling and production or creative direction because it seemed like you can do more things with creative direction, plus styling is also included in it. Thus, I had a conversation with Carlyn and showed some of my work progression to her, she told me that if I really have fun and like to styling the models, working with photography and presenting the products, then styling is the right course for you and I agree with her.

Seeing my development from the beginning makes me feel more confident with my interest. I also feel impressed that I did a lot of research and tried so many things that I would never do by myself if I didn’t asked to, for example, the street fashion interviewing. Therefore, I would say that I have overcome those challenges and become more brave with trying new things and be more confident with my ideas. However, I still want to improve my photography and video editing skill, I will experiment more with Adobe premier pro to create new and attractive fashion films. I will get myself to talk and working more with the photographers because I feel like in this fashion production industry I need to be good at communicating and have a good teamwork skill.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the final outcome, I like the content that I created and the images that I made, especially the styling ones. The research that I have done behind this zine to develop and support my ideas, as well as the progress that I put into my blog will definitely help me succeed in my future career and when I progress to my BA course.
