Fashion film SDS

For one of my fashion film sds task, I chose FASHION FILM: ASIAN COUTURE WEEK 2013 created by Marie Schuller

this film captures the best of the 2013 Asian haute couture collections. Moreover, it shows the Asian features like facial and appearance in a very elegance and interesting way. I also love the location which is an indoor at home or in an apartment. They also played with the mirror and there are lots of props. The movement and poses are so creative as well. It gives me the feeling of a girl reflecting her own mind with herself, which I can feel the relative ideas between this film and mine.

The second film I chose was FASHION FILM TRAILER: LAUNCH by Nick knight on 3 March 2019.

A fashion film of Gigi Hadid on her interstellar haute couture with Fei Fei Sun, captured by Nick Knight for Vogue Hong Kong’s inaugural issue. Paying tribute to the future-driven artistic and cultural hub that is Hong Kong, both models are caught as if somewhere between outer space and the beaming lights of the city skyline.

This film is pretty short yet very strong and powerful. I love the colors, lighting, shadows, body movement and the fabulous garments. Although, this film was made 2 years ago but it still looks so modern and cool. This is also a good example of an ad that shows very well products focus. I also love how they chose asian and western top models to be the main characters for this video campaign because it shows the variety and the mixed culture.

Overall, I am very fascinated in those fashion videos, the clothing are absolutely stunning and they are also up to date. I love the movement and the poses that the models did. The atmosphere are great and wonderful editing as well. They must have a very good team to created these amazing films.
